It is a small hamlet, located near Ranikhet in the Kumaon region of the northern state of Uttarakhand. Which is perched at an average elevation of 1500 meter The mountains make it a very special place with a beautiful view of the Himalaya. Dwarahat is the nearest town to Pandukholi Mountains, where, the holy cave, where Mahavtar Babji taught the Kriya Yoga to Lahiri Mahasaya in 1861. This place has many beautiful and famous temples and this place is also called “village of temples”. Dwarahat is home to 8 temples from the 10th-12th century, most of which are pyramid shapes, made of stones.

Dwarahat is also known for the branch ashram of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, known as Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Ashram, Dwarahat. Dwarahat is a also a popular centre of education of Kumaon as there is an engineering college and a polytechnic institute at Dwarahat apart from the several schools.
